Vintage Fashion Show 2012 Part 1

This year's fashion show I put together was a huge success. We had the show at this amazing Art Deco style speak-easy venue called, "The Carlyle Club". All around it was the perfect setting for a vintage fashion show. The show featured all original clothing from the 1920s - 1950s. I would say about 75% of the women's clothing this year was from my own personal collection. All of the men's clothing was on loan by "Matinee Idol", or what is now called, "Amalgamated Classic Clothing and Dry Goods".  If you are in the DC area, you should check out this fantastic little gem of a shop, packed full of some of the best vintage clothing I have seen around.
In addition to organizing the show; I write the script; style some of the models hair and put most of the outfits together (with the exception of the gentlemen), by arranging them with the proper accessories to complete the look. I try to make the looks as complete and as accurate as I can with what I can find or borrow from my closet or the closet of others. This is not always easy to do since it's become so difficult now trying to find authentic clothing. People always ask me where I find all my vintage clothing and I tell them, "Everywhere and any where I can"!

Here are a few of the shots from this years show. These photographs were taken by White Ribbon Studios

Blog Love

Welcome new followers! I have been on vacation for the past two weeks and now I'm back trying to play catch-up....

Margo of http://hellomargoleblog.blogspot.fr/ recently selected me for the Liebster Blog Award and I would have to admit I had no idea what the Liebster Award was. The word "Liebster" means sweetheart or beloved person. This award is given to newer blogs that have 200 followers or less.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU very much, Margo! I'm glad you are enjoying my blog postings.

The rules are as follows:
1)  Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2)  Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3)  Copy and paste the blog award on your own blog.
4)  Present the Liebster Blog award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed.
5)  Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

The Blogs that I would like to preset the Liebster Award that deserve to be noticed are:
1) Call Me Lucille

2) ?
Ok, since I'm new to blogging I just discovered that the blogs I currently follower apparently have 300 or more followers and I'm having a really hard time filling my duties of finding those that deserve to be noticed. Honestly, I think everyone deserves to be noticed that tries to write a blog. I often find it difficult since there is already so much information out there.

Vintage Fashion Show 2010

I have two more weeks to go before I put on another Fashion Show with ADSW. Tickets actually sold out three weeks before the show but the venue was able to accommodate a few more people so we have a few tickets left.
I thought I would share some of the photos from the past fashion show that I put together. I'll have to do this in a few parts since there is so much to share so I'll just give you a few highlights. All of these photos were taken by Paul Bohman
